Too many skincare products arrive with more noise than real benefit, so we decided to take another road. We are Minus, and our goal is to remove the clutter and hand your skin only what it truly needs.

The Moment Everything Changed

Imagine a sunny Hawaiian shoreline with clear water rolling onto the sand. Beautiful, until we noticed the film of chemicals left on the surface after swimmers covered themselves in sunscreen. That image stayed with us.

Two questions followed: why should caring for our skin come at the cost of the planet, and why has a simple routine become so complicated?

Clearing Away the Clutter

We spent months studying the skincare aisle, and the findings surprised us: long lists of ingredients nobody can pronounce, exaggerated label claims and, behind the marketing, chemicals that raise real concerns.

Some of the usual suspects:

Oxybenzone and octinoxate: harmful to coral reefs and suspected of disrupting hormones.
Parabens: preservatives that imitate estrogen in the body.
Phthalates: often hidden inside "fragrance" and associated with endocrine disruption.
Formaldehyde-releasing preservatives: possible carcinogens that can irritate skin and eyes.

We decided the industry needed a straight answer.
